Choosing a handmade kitchen isn’t just about craftsmanship and beauty—it’s also a sustainable choice. At Minerva, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact while creating bespoke kitchens that stand the test of time.
Unlike mass-produced kitchens, which generate significant waste and consume high amounts of energy, our handcrafted approach minimises waste, lowers energy consumption, and reduces carbon footprint. By investing in a handmade kitchen, you’re not only choosing quality but also supporting a greener planet.
Here’s how we ensure our kitchens are crafted with sustainability in mind:

Ethically Sourced FSC Timber
We only use FSC-approved timber sourced from an environmentally responsible merchant. This means our wood comes from sustainably managed forests, ensuring we support ethical forestry practices.
Additionally, our materials are locally sourced, significantly reducing transportation emissions and helping to minimise our overall carbon footprint.
Eco-Friendly, Water-Based Paints
Traditional paints release high levels of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which can harm both the environment and indoor air quality. That’s why we use water-based paints, which:
✔ Emit fewer harmful chemicals
✔ Are safer for both your home and the planet
✔ Offer enhanced durability—helping us fulfil our 15-year kitchen guarantee
Solar-Powered Workshops
Our workshops are the heart of our business—where every kitchen is cut, sized, sanded, primed, and painted with precision and care. However, all this craftsmanship requires energy.
That’s why we’ve invested in solar energy to power our production. 50% of our workshop’s electricity comes from a nearby solar panel field, ensuring we use a clean, renewable energy source that produces zero greenhouse gas emissions.

A handmade kitchen is designed to last for decades, unlike cheaper mass-produced alternatives that often need replacing within a few years. Investing in quality craftsmanship means less waste, fewer replacements, and a more sustainable future.
