Meet the Kitchen - Sorrento Edition

We completely understand that deciding between modern and shaker designs can be tricky, so we have made it a lot easier for you...why should you have to choose?!

The inspiration for our Sorrento collection was to have a smooth, frameless design, this has certainly been achieved. The design was partly inspired by our Molveno collection, but with the addition of minimalistic shaker doors and drawers. Sorrento is truly a hybrid design, made up of an exquisite combination of modern and shaker. The actual Sorrento, in Southern Italy, has views over Vesuvius, but the only potential eruption that could take place near your Sorrento kitchen will be when your friends, family and neighbours stampede through the house to see your new, incredible culinary, social space!

To provide you with a bit of visual inspiration here are some shots of a recent Sorrento project that we completed. As you will see these perfectly display how to really make the most of a space, and give it everything! Of course, no two Minerva kitchens are the same and this really is the true mark and art of bespoke, handcrafted cabinetry...we will craft your own kitchen to you and your tastes and requirements.

On show here we have a large number of base cabinets, wall cabinets, tall cabinets and of course a stunning island, culminating in full utilisation of the space.

A large kitchen with light grey, shaker style, bespoke, handcrafted cabinetry, this is part of the Sorrento collection. Island with two stalls in the foreground of the image. A treble paned window is in the background. An aga, double conventional oven and bookshelves are shown around the room. There are two lights hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the image and spotlights around the room. Kitchen equipment is shown on the worktop.

Just to hone in on the island for a minute - it was designed with lots of storage in mind, but also to create a social space with the overhang counter where stools could be pulled up for family time and social gatherings. Adding an island to your kitchen not only gives you extra cabinetry and drawers, but it of course also provides so much more counter space for meal

preparation, cocktail making, homework...generally for being together in one amazing space!

A brown, bespoke, handcrafted kitchen island with multiple drawers forms the main part of the image - the cabinetry is part of the Sorrento collection. There is light grey, shaker style kitchen cabinetry. There is a three paned window, a clock and a shelf with plants on shown.

Below is an example of utilising all areas, ensuring that there isn't a suitable and convenient space unused, non shelved or with a cabinet. That's not to say that your kitchen will suddenly be covered floor to ceiling in everything you could imagine, but we professionally design, plan and create ensuring that all spaces are thought about and incorporated...so that they are used to their greatest potential.

The corner of a kitchen which shows a light grey, shaker style, bespoke, handcrafted kitchen wall cabinet, the cabinetry is part of the Sorrento collection. On the worktop there is a fruit bowl, a toaster, two chopping boards and a knife block. To the right the top of an aga is shown and a shelf with a plant on.

Tall, light grey, shaker style, bespoke, handcrafted kitchen cabinet and book shelves - the cabinetry is part of the Sorrento collection. There is a dog bowl on the floor and the edge of a kitchen island shows to the right.

See our Sorrento on show!

As with all big, potential projects and investments it is of course best to see cabinetry in person so that you can start to really get a feel for how it could look in your own space.

Our showrooms are for you and your in person needs and our designers are here to help you every step of the way through the concept, design, planning and installation process. Our showroom consultations are very relaxed (tea/coffee included) and you will of course be under no obligation. We will talk you through options, styles, layouts, colours and possibilities and by the end of the conversation you will be 'Minerva equipped' and, if we have inspired you enough, you will be looking to continue your journey to your dream kitchen with us.

Please note: If one of your questions is "Do I get a dog bowl as part of our new kitchen as shown in the photo", the quick answer is no, but we do love dogs, so we are happy to have a conversation around this and we'll see what we can do.
