Meet the Kitchen - Milan Edition

With just 12 days to go until Christmas, we are very pleased to feature our Milan collection. You may think it is unrelated to the festive season, but I see this blog as the first present you have unwrapped (digitally) this year, and you'll soon see why Milan is the gift that keeps on giving!

The Milan features a frame to support the hidden handles that are recessed into the top of the doors and drawers. The overall design features the signature bold shapes with a flat-panelled style keeping in line with the modern style.

The below photos are of recent Milan projects that we have completed and, as you will see, they were all very uniquely styled and laid out projects in very good spaces. Milan islands are featured in two of the projects (most of us want an Italian island don't we?!) and specific cabinetry was crafted to suit the needs of each of the clients. In some cases storage is key, in others it is important that the space has well...space. Sometimes shelving is wanted, for other projects the minimalistic look is at the top of the wishlist and for others socialising is key to ensure that the whole family, and friends, are able to enjoy the culinary goings on.

This first featured project incorporated a number of specific requirements - there is of course the sociable island, there are shelves for extra display and storage purposes, cabinetry was meticulously crafted for housing appliances and there is also a good amount of space. I challenge any budding Chef, or of course accompanying Sous Chef, to not feel right at home here!

Large kitchen with light brown, bespoke, handcrafted cabinetry from the Milan collection. There is a large, silver fridge freezer, which is housed by cabinets. Part of the worktop comes into the middle of the image and has an overhang for stools to go under, there are two lights hanging from the ceiling hanging over this part of the worktopl. Two windows, kitchen equipment, bowls and plants on shelves are also present. There is part of a bench and table at the bottom right of the image.

This second featured project has the minimalistic look to it, and it perfectly shows how having just the right amount of 'kitchen'...with no additional shelves or cabinets can suit the room and what you need in it. It is also a great example of a very different colour scheme - we have 40 different colours for you to choose from!

A contemporary kitchen area with dark green, bespoke, handcrafted kitchen cabinetry, from the Milan collection. The only item on show is a fruit bowl which is on the worktop of an island. To the right of the image is a table and three chairs, there is also a back door at the top right of the image.

This third featured project brilliantly displays 'getting what you need into a good space' and it still looking minimalistic, with a good amount of storage and a decent social area. As you can see there are large cupboards above the double oven for pots and pans, an island with a stool area for those busy breakfast and dinner times when, let's be honest, everyone is hungry and subtly hangs around for food. Also, the large fridge freezer is perfectly incorporated into the design making it 'part of the furniture' and looking very cosy with quite a discreet wine rack aloft...being stocked up, especially at this time of year, is of course very important.

Large contemporary kitchen area with white, bespoke, handcrafted cabinetry, part of the Milan collection. There is a kitchen island in the centre of the image with two stools underneath an overhanging part. There is a double oven and silver fridge freezer housed in cabinets. A small light is hanging from the ceiling and there are some spotlights. Two electrical kitchen items are on the main worktop.
Light brown, glass shelved drinks cabinet, part of the Milan collection. The cabinet has a number of glasses and bottles of drinks in it. To the right of the image is a silver fridge freezer. To the left of the image is a small part of a window and window sill.

Plan your Milan - face to face

To the right is a close up of a little bit of detail from the first project shown above - this excellently shows how we can handcraft the bespoke cabinetry that you desire. This counter top cupboard, with glass shelving, was made to fit the space without compromising on the style or look of the surrounding cabinetry...in any way!

So, now you have some Milanese inspiration under your belt, it feels like the perfect time for you to come and see us. Our design consultations are very relaxed (over a hot beverage).
