Meet the Kitchen - Florence Edition

We are very proud to feature our Florence collection - Florence has a distinctive bolection moulding, a small addition that completely changes the characteristics of the classic shaker. The Georgian-style cornice mould gives Florence its signature exquisite flourish.

Florence, the location, is of course known for its renaissance art and incredible architecture, our collection is very much the art detailed shaker of kitchen cabinetry, and looks perfect being part of any architectural set-up!

Just to dive into the finer detail for a minute, bolection moulding is a bold, raised design that projects outward from the cabinet, ultimately creating a contrast between the frame and the panel. This type of mould can be taken right back to Georgian, Regency and Neoclassical architecture, it was widely used in 17th and 18th century homes for the sheer look of elegance that is exuded. I know, every day's a skool day hey...

So that you can get inspired, for how a Florence set-up might look in your own home, below is a recent project that we completed. This project perfectly shows how much of a versatile design it is and how it can be perfectly crafted to not only enhance and lift your cooking and dining area, but it will transform your home! Apparently there are other rooms around the home that are important, but the kitchen is the most important, right?!

Dark grey, shaker style, bespoke, handcrafted kitchen cabinetry, which is part of the Florence collection. There is a large silver fridge freezer, a table (with a fruit bowl on) and chairs, two windows, a wine rack up high and some kitchen equipment shown. There is also a vase of sunflowers and two plants on the window sills. There is one main light and a number of spotlights around the room.

Here is a closer view of some of the cabinetry showing how it was crafted to incorporate, and fit perfectly, with appliances and provided a world of storage for the whole family's culinary needs.

This project also involved the creation of Florence utility room bespoke cabinetry, which shows that it is the perfect design for all types of storage, appliance areas and working spaces. If you have areas that you think are tricky or you're not sure they can be made to house all of your utility equipment and appliances, speak to our designers and they will work their magic and create a design that precisely includes everything that is on your handcrafted wish list.
